Biovakka Suomi has awarded Watrec Ltd. for head engineering, project management and plant control software for new biogas plant. The biogas plant will be located in Turku area (Southern-Western Finland) and will utilise the municipal wastewater sludge from the new centralised wastewater treatment plant, producing energy, soil improvers, and fertilisers. The estimated volume of sludge for biogas plant is 60.000 tn dewatered (12.000 tn TS) sludge annually. The scheduled start up of the biogas plant is in autumn 2008.
